On May 2nd and 3rd, the California Council for Excellence (CCE) hosted their 26th annual best practices conference in Sacramento, "Celebrating Excellence 2023." CCE supports organizations in their performance excellence efforts and offers four levels of assessments for organizations at any stage of their performance excellence journey. The assessments are based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award — the nation's highest presidential recognition for performance excellence — and the MBNQA Framework. Among this year’s award winners was Mizuho OSI, a San Francisco Bay Area surgical table manufacturer, that received a Silver Level Eureka Award based on an assessment at the highest of the four levels. Eureka Award winners are eligible to compete at the national level for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Congratulations to Mizuho OSI for this prestigious achievement and to CCE for another year of assisting California companies on their performance excellence journeys!

CMTC Spotlight
CMTC recently provided sales and marketing support to in-vitro diagnostic substance manufacturer Molecular Decisions, Inc. to help the company increase their visibility in the marketplace. CMTC worked with MDI to refine the company’s website and develop points of contact using the VizBiz Solutions platform. CMTC created and sent emails to 1,000 contacts, directing each email recipient to the MDI website. Website analytics reports were provided to MDI through the VizBiz platform. The service was provided to MDI as part of a California small business technical assistance program (SBTAEP). After working with CMTC, Molecular Decisions was able to significantly expand their market. A sales increase of $350,000 resulted from one new client project; and MDI anticipates additional projects in the near future. As a result of CMTC’s sales and marketing support, MDI also reports $10,000 in cost savings and $60,000 in new investments. In addition, MDI was able to retain three staff members and add two new positions.
