Critical Resources Available to
California Manufacturers Amid the Wildfires

Wildfire Assistance Email Header-1

As wildfires continue to affect the Los Angeles area, our hearts go out to everyone impacted by these devastating events. To those who have lost homes and businesses, been displaced, or are facing uncertainty, please know that you are not alone. CMTC as well as regional partners like the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) stand united in supporting California manufacturers during this challenging time.

If you need assistance or know someone who does, LAEDC has compiled a list of critical resources and information for individuals, families, and businesses to provide the tools needed for stabilizing and rebuilding. This list of resources is refreshed and updated regularly and is available on the LAEDC website at: https://laedc.org/2025-wildfire-assistance. In addition, LAEDC has developed a special guide containing actionable steps for recovery, resilience, and accessing essential state-level resources to help businesses rebuild effectively — this guide can also be found on the LAEDC website at: https://laedc.org/planning-for-business-operations-after-natural-disasters.

We know there is a long road ahead, but CMTC and our partners are committed to helping California manufacturers navigate the challenges that lie before us. As always, our community’s resilience shines brightest in tough times. Together, we will rebuild and recover. For further support, please reach out to us at comm@cmtc.com.

Top 6 Challenges in Warehouse Management & How to Overcome Them

As covered in our previous blog, warehousing and distribution management is of critical importance. Your warehouse is like the beating heart of your supply chain. When it’s pumping reliably, your manufacturing operations benefit from predictability providing your business with a rock-solid foundation for growth. When your warehouse is clogged, cluttered, or disorganized, the flow slows down. Minor problems can add up quickly, leading to issues across the entire supply chain. In this blog, we’ll discuss six of the most common challenges in warehouse management and provide you with some actionable steps to overcome them to start building a more sustainable, efficient warehouse...

Monthly Supply Chain Insights: January 2025

      supply chain disruption_wildfires_icon

At CMTC, we are committed to equipping you with the insights and tools needed to manage potential disruptions in your supply chain. The ongoing Southern California wildfires and windstorms present significant risks to operations, and we are here to help you mitigate their impact.

      Anticipated Disruptions
The wildfires and severe weather conditions are likely to cause the following challenges:

      • Supply Shortages: Manufacturing and distribution centers may face closures or reduced capacity, leading to inventory shortages.
      • Increased Costs: Bottlenecks in the supply chain, rerouting needs, and higher transportation costs could significantly raise operational expenses.
      • Strained Logistics: Emergency response efforts may limit capacity within commercial shipping networks, affecting deliveries.
      • Transportation Delays: Road closures, evacuations, and hazardous conditions could impede the movement of goods and services across the region.

      Recommended Actions

To help minimize disruptions, we recommend the following steps:

      • Proactive Communication: Notify your customers, suppliers, and partners about potential disruptions to manage expectations and maintain transparency.
      • Activate Contingency Plans: Review and implement your business continuity and supply chain risk mitigation strategies. These plans will help you assess and address impacts on revenue, operations, and overall performance.

If you need assistance in developing a tailored Business Continuity Plan or a Supply Chain Risk Mitigation Strategy, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at comm@cmtc.com. We are here to support your organization through these challenging times.
